A really great program of new stuff by City Ballet. Another chance to see Justin Peck’s piece to Caroline Shaw’s Partita for 8 Voices: whatever your qualms about the choreography (which is kind of schematically obvious), any chance to hear that music is welcome. Another chance to see Jamar Roberts’s piece to Wayne Shorter’s Eamanon (in this case the choreography is better than the music — to my taste, anyway). And two by Pam Tanowitz: a piece she did to more Shaw in which City Ballet dancers will be joined by guests from the Dance Theatre of Harlem; and a new piece to Ted Hearne’s wonderful Law of Mosaics.
