So I was walking up Flatbush Avenue last Fall and came upon this trio playing mellow, swaying, absolutely irresistible Son Montuno on a traffic island. They turned out to be three-quarters of the Cuarteto Guataca. I’m a fan! This was definitely and by far the best music I’ve ever heard on a traffic island on Flatbush Avenue.
