Pianist/composer Gerald Clayton had seemed kind of rearguard — until, with his wonderful Tributary Tales album, he didn’t. Over these two nights, he leads two different trios. Tuesday sees him with the dream team of Joel Ross on vibes and Immanuel Wilkins on alto. Wednesday sees him with the only slightly less dreamy Steve Nelson on vibes and Peter Bernstein on guitar.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: I’ma keep sending you to Mark’s Off Madison cuz I continue to think Mark Straussman is a wonderful chef and I continue to adore the Ashkenazi-tinged Italian food at this restaurant.
