You might think violinist Jenny Scheinman is too rootsy for this List, but she has that saving pinch of the avant: like sometime collaborator Bill Frisells’s, hers is a skewed Americana. Of course she has a great band.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, the self-explanatory Colombia in Park Slope. Streaming at home, have a Billionaire: pour 2 oz. Bourbon, 1 oz. lemon juice, 1/2 oz. each of Grenadine and Simple Syrup, and 1/4 oz. Absinthe into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
