It was a great idea to have avant-Korean instrumentalist gamin program a concert series (of female-identifying performers): she’s quietly established herself as one of the more consistently interesting performers on the New York scene. So of course for this one, featuring solo sets, she went and rounded up a great bunch of people you just want to hear: Ultimate List Fave Gelsey Bell, drummer Lesley Mok, pianist/accordionist Shoko Nagai, violinist Layale Chaker, and saxophonist Ayumi Ishito!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Betcha think I don’t have the gall to repeat for the umpteenth time my recommendation/insistence that you avail yourself of the fabulous value of the West African steam-table buffet at B&B Restaurant. WRONG!
