I had sort of decided not to List this as too backward-looking. But I’ve reconsidered. This List has made its nostalgia for Mid-Century American Symphonic Modernism. Well here’s someone who’s still alive today, still writing in that style. (I mean, he even studied with Nadia Boulanger!) So let’s all be thankful Adolphus Hailstorck is still among us, still productive.
