In the late 19th Century, a Black chorus from South Africa went on a tour of the UK and the US, hoping to raise money to build a school. The tour was a fiancial success — but the members of the choir faced crushing racism along the way. Good thing nothing like that could ever happen now. South African choreographer Gregory Maqoma and co-creator Thuthuka Sibisi tell the tale.
