How great is it that one of the very finest American “classical” composers came out of the AACM? Tonight he’s played by the International Contemporary Ensemble (whose Artistic Director he is).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, eclectic New American at As You Are. Streaming at home, have a Chicago: rim a Champagne glass with sugar. Pour 2 oz. Brandy and 1/8 tsp. Cointreau, with 1 dash Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into the rimmed flute. Top with Champagne.
