The tough In-and-Out alto saxophonist Tim Berne has a lot of bands. But I think this quite untough one with accordionist/clarinetist/vocalist Aurora Nealand and cellist Hank Roberts is my favorite. This is quiet, thoughtful music that drones and hums — and draws you right in.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, a new bar around the corner from Roulette! The Little Pig. Streaming at home, have a Salty Dog: rim a rocks glass with salt. Pour 2 oz. Gin and 4 oz. grapefruit juice into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into the rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and a time sprig.
