An appealing program from The MET Orchestra Chamber Ensemble, including a new piece from the Neo-Romantic Mexican composer Santos Cota, whose work you’ll wonder why you aren’t more familiar with; Gabriela Lena Frank’s wonderful Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout, which for some reason I rarely get to hear played in full; Strauss’s early Wind Serenade, which is only slightly overblown; and the suite from the original chamber version of Appalachian Spring, which some of us prefer to Copland’s later orchestral expansion.
