Heru Shabaka-ra does spoken sound and trumpet — which he has played in the Sun Ra Arkestra! Quijiang Levi Lu does fascinating electronic and electroacoustic sound explorations. And it wouldn’t be an Assembly without trumpeter Nate Wooley combining notated and unnotated music in his amazing ensemble.
