Darian Donovan Thomas composes and plays (on many different instruments) droning yet communicative pieces that are good to listen to. Kirin McElwaine drones, too, on her cello — a little too portentously, if you ask me. I wish Naima’s Alt R&B were a bit better. But even a sourpuss such as myself finds it hard to resist Talk Bazaar’s gleaming Pop.
