Sound artist Tomomi Adachi puts together a program of music John Cage created in response to his first visit to Japan in the early ‘60s, as well as music by Cage’s host, Cage’s former student Toshi Ichiyanagi (the first husband of his Fluxus colleague Yoko Ono).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, sneak downstairs to what was the first izakaya many of us ever went to, Sakagura. Streaming at home, have a Bamboo: pour 1-1/2 oz. each of dry Vermouth and Sherry, with 2 dashes of orange bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Express a lemon twist into the drink and use the twist as a garnish, along with an olive.
