This List is thrilled to get a chance to advocate the Canadian Minimalist Ann Southam. It is nothing less than a scandal how infrequently this uniquely lyrical Minimalist composer’s stunningly bright work is programmed in New York City, and if you have any affection at all for the style you really want to hear Sarah Cahill, Adrienne Kim, and Adam Sherkin play this recital of Southam’s late piano works.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: They’ll be giving out beer and wine at the show. But if you want something at least slightly more solid, the broth is particularly rich at E.A.K. Ramen.
