Interesting show. Marija Kovacevic’s violin music is always compelling — especially when the violins she’s employing are broken. PRINCX is Steve Long’s large ensemble/big band attempt to combine the sensibilities of Cage/Eastman/Oliveros/(Cecil) Taylor with the approach of Duke Ellington. Zachary Paul does that durational ambient thing — very well.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: The first thing to remember is that you’re in a bar in the downstairs of an excellent wine shop that takes its cocktails as seriously as the shop takes Natural wine. The second thing to remember is that you’re around the corner from stylish pan-Asian in homey surroundings at Porcelain.
