Guitar! Dither, of course, is a quartet comprising four of them (and they’ll be doing pieces by Angélica Negrón and Laurie Spiegel(!)). Empyrean Atlas is a band conceived in the audience of a Thomas Mapfumo concert — and damned if you don’t hear that ringing Zimbabwean Chimurenga guitar sound unspooling in a concept derived from Miminalism and abstracted jazz.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: It seems unlikely, but a (very) knowlegeable friend tells me that Chez Zou is actually a good cocktail bar.
