Multi-instrumentalist/composer Hermeto Pascoal played with Miles Davis — and that’s the most conventional mainstream thing he’s done! With typical Brazilian disregard for all notions of genre or high-or-low, he composes music that sounds like no other (Brazilian or otherwise) even while (of course!) retaining recognizable elements of Brazilian forms — and makes it seem easy. Which for him, maybe it is.
