A rather freewheeling, Silk Road music exploration. Seeing ancient Persian instruments and artwork displayed from Imperial storage in the Palace Museum in Nara, Japan, acccordionist/composer Shoko Nagai wondered what it was like to hear Persian and Middle Eastern music in Japan a thousand and more years ago. The band TOKOLA is an attempt to imagine an answer — in a very broad, suggestive, contemporary sense.
