I remain a fan, but I’m still really pissed off at Belgian director Ivo van Hove’s total misfire of a production of West Side Story, which the Pandemic happily put out of its misery. But Don Giovanni can probably take being taken super-seriously better than Bernstein’s show-biz confection, so much as we’ll miss the giacoso side that keeps this opera from being a dumb morality tale, we’ll see.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Spend a lot of money on very good fancy Italian food at The Leopard at des Artistes.
