I might as well come clean and disclose that I really like LA (certainly aeons more than its boring, smug, and now unlivable northern counterpart). Having made that painful declaration (don’t worry: I’m never going to start saying nice things about Boston), let me direct you to this mixed program of new music for piano, for toy piano, and for microtonal keyboard.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, nice enough bistro at Bacchus. Streaming at home, have a Player Piano: pour 3/4 oz. each of Rhum Agricole, Aperol, St-Germain, and lime juice, with 1 dash of Tiki bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
