The highly in-demand pianist/composer Micah Thomas kicks off a projected set of works for largeish ensemble. One advantage of being highly in-demand is that when you’re forming a largeish ensemble, you have already-existing relationships with players on the order of Immanuel Wilkins and x.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, fancy Austrian at Koloman. Streaming at home, have a New York Sour: pour 2 oz. Rye and 3/4 oz. each of lemon juice and Simple Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Top with red wine.
