The NYC Free Jazz community gathers to pay tribute to New Orleans Free Jazz legend Kidd Jordan, who will never be replaced.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, nice enough bistro at Bacchus. Streaming at home, have a Vieux Carre: pour 3/4 oz. each of Rye, Cognac, and sweet Vermouth, and 1/2 oz. Bénédictine, with 2 dashes each of Peychaud’s and Agnostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into Old Fashioned glass over ice. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
