The conscious jazz Pan Africkan Peoples Arkestra, formed in LA more than 60 years ago by the late great pianist Horace Tapscott, finally makes its New York debut. Just as exciting, Taja Cheek temporarily sets aside her (great) Alt R&B persona L’Rain for an improvised multi-instrumental set.
