The big deal on the inventive Boston string orchestra’s program is a world premiere by is-he-jazz-or-classical-and-what’s-the-difference? composer Anthony Davis — played by a brass ensemble the orchestra is friends with. Also some Jessie Montgomery, cuz if you’re a string orchestra you’ve got to be playing Jessie Montgomery; an extract from a recent piece by the seemingly resurgent Osvaldo Golijov — and an orchestral expansion of Dvorák’s American Quartet, if you’re into that kind of thing.
