I was going to make some snide comment about how the easy way out is apparently not bothering to hit shift to capitalize. But then I found out that the titular Gerstl (er, gerstl) is the pre-Expressionist painter Richard Gerstl, and this is a metatheatrical non-linear comedy about his affair with Mathilde Schoenberg, wife of his close friend Arnold (Gerstl committed suicide by both stabbing and hanging himself when Mathilde returned to Arnold: that’s how funny this all is). Sounds right up my alley.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, Korean noodles at Jeju Noodle Bar. Streaming at home, have a Spritzer: pour 2 oz. chilled Gemischter Satz white wine into a white wine glass. Top with 2 oz. chilled soda water.
