Classical is represented by Cimarosa and Bottesini (I think of Bottesini as more Romantic than Classical myself); Neo by a composition by guest contrabass soloist Xavier Folely and by Sowande and the first symphony of Adolphus Hailstork, which, fan though I am, I confess to not yet having heard (I think of Hailstork as more Neo-Romantic than Neo-Classical myself — but really he’s protean) (and ALWAYS welcome). Thomas Wilkins conducts.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: I’ve heard that Kwame Onwuachi’s in-house Afro-Caribbean restaurant Tatiana is pretty good (oh I crack myself up).
