Peter Stampfel has absolutely zero to do with the The List aesthetic. But I love the mid-60s co-inventor of Freak Folk so much, and have gotten so much pleasure from his antic REAL folk-rock over the last many decades, that I can’t not List this. (Also, how can I not List him when he once told a mutual acquaintance that a review I wrote of a concert of his in the ‘70s was one of the most perceptive he’d ever read?)
