The Crossing vocal ensemble presents a major peice by Ted Hearne, who incorporates a lot of pop/R&B drive into his excellent music (and who was proud to have been beaten out by Kendrick Lamar for a Pulitzer). The piece explores the effects of colonialism on current labor practices. This performance must be at least semi-staged, as the endlessly inventive Ashley Tata is listed as director.
