The really excellent jazz cellist Tomeka Reid gets a week. It’s hard not to get especially excited about her quartet featuring world-beating guitarist Mary Halvorson on Saturday. But then there’s a rendition of Julius Hemphill’s string quartet music on Wednesday (one of the violinists is Curtis Stewart!).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: No one better to take over the old Café Loup space than NYC Front of House vet Michael Cechhi-Azzolina with his American Bistro Cecchi’s.
