Reedsplayer/conceptualist Matana Roberts is one of the most vital musicians working in the United States today. For this project, she is joined by the key-player rhythm section of bassist Brandon Lopez and drummer Tomas Fujiwara to build upon the tenets of both the American and European strains of Free Jazz.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, José Andés cocktails and bar snacks at the sky-high Nubeluz. Streaming at home, have an Elephant: pour 1-1/3 oz. Gin, 1/3 oz. Lilet Rosé, and 1/8 tsp. Grenadine into a Highball glass over ice. Stir. Garnish with berries.
