Bachata rose from the poor Dominican countryside to international prominence by splitting the difference between melodramatic Bolero and danceable Son. This show traces its history and future, headed by Lenny Santos, mastermind of Aventura, the Bronx band that did at least as much as anyone to bring this music to the world. This is the week for Bronx music!
