One thing about our current regime of pop omnivorousness/anti-genre theorizing is that any genre is ripe for appreciation. It might be a sign of how Quarantine either mellowed or addled my mind that I came to see some good things about New Age music (I mean, Beverly Glenn-Copeland: GREAT! Am I right?). I mean, how different is it from Ambient? And apparently I'm not alone. Percussionist-about-town Clara Warnaar (a really key performer on the local Alt Classical/Alt Pop/Alt What's The Difference? scene) curates a series called A New Age for New Age wherein she and her fellow scenesters reinterpret New Age. Their latest album is called Music for and From the Spa. And for your $80 here, you get to listen to it in an actual spa, with full use of the spa facilities (and light snacks). And then . . . .
