I’d decided not to List this. I mean, guitar rock bands are so OVER. And they tend to get worse over time. But then I got to thinking about how I’ve liked each of Sleepy Ortiz’s three extant records better than the last (and I quite liked the first one to begin with). Then I started to listen to the tracks that have already dropped from the new album whose release this show celebrates. And damned if they haven’t topped themselves again: the music has even more punch, and the interesting-as-always lyrics are more grounded. So a belated Listing — and an apology.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  As if you could get into Frenchette’s more boring Uptown sibling Le Rock.
