What’s better than the guitar quartet Dither’s playing their guitar arrangements of pieces from Laurie Spiegel’s fabulous, a little crazy electronic-music masterstroke The Expanding Universe? Dither’s playing them with “legendary” (their word) guitarist Lee Ranaldo — even if Ranaldo will be playing keys. (It’s weird to see one of your college friends described as “legendary”, but I guess I have to face up to it: Lee is legendary.) They will all also play Ranaldo’s Hurricane Sandy Transcriptions — with Brian Chase joining on drums.
