Taste can seem so random. Why do I find Cole Blu’s backward-looking minor-key guitar pop-rock enjoyable and Peaceful Faces’ vaguely annoying? If I weren’t writing on a short deadline, I’d really try to analyze it. Claire Dickson’s very slightly jazz-tinged Chamber-Pop is, thankfully, another thing entirely.
