I personally think Ryuichi Sakamoto was one of the more overrated musical presenses of the last 50 years or so, from the electronic Yellow Magic Orchestra in the 1970s to his later film scores and concert pieces. But plenty of people I respect — very much including those involved with this program — disagree.
