It’s always a treat to hear Antheil’s Jazz Symphony. But putting aside the other enticing Weimar-Era stuff on this program, there’s a new piece by Tonia Ko. And, most excitingly, something by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, a composer I’ve been sleeping on since I enjoyed hearing Ethel play one of his pieces at BAM a decade ago — but no more: his colorful music SNAPS.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Gallagher’s is now the best Old Skool steakhouse in New York City.
