Lincoln Center presents Kate NV not because she’s great — although God knows she is — but because she’s a “Woman Or Non-Binary Artist In Tech”. Meaning that they’re resplacing one artistically deadheaded orthodoxy with another. Don’t let that keep you away from Kate NV, though: her Avant-Pop is sublime.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: You can whine that Rosa Mexicano isn’t nearly as good as it used to be, and I’ll whine right along with you. But it isn’t affirmatively bad.
