The Mivos Quartet's program includes pieces by such solid List faves as Linda Caitlin Smith, who sounds like Wandelweiser listening to Ravel on the prairie (even if Smith in fact grew up in New York) — just the kind of thing we all need to calm us down right now — and the commanding George Lewis, who for all his eminence retains the ability to surprise. There are also rumors of music by the wonderful Kate Soper — but we'll have to wait and see.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Nothing but Martinis this week: we need something STRONG (I'd recommend Everclear, but we try to be classy around here). Pour 2 oz. Gin and 1 oz. dry Vermouth into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist.
