If you're me, Jørgen Leth's 1967 Danish film The Perfect Human is a touchstone: a surreally deadpan dissection of conventional straight life, presented in a manner creating extreme alienation: the Scandinavian sensibility take to its outer limits. In this new film, interdisciplinary artist Dean Moss takes The Perfect Human and juices it up, taking the surreal into the psychedelic. I for one can't wait. MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Vanderbilt: pour 2-1/4 oz. Cognac, 3/4 oz. Cherry Heering, and 1 teaspoon of Simple Syrup, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist. I'm usually unable to prevent myself from gilding the lily by also tossing in a cocktail cherry.
