This really is a personal recommendation for me, as I'm kind of obsessed with the story of the Shackleton Expedition to Antarctica. So, apparently, is Cole Stern, who as far as I can tell from the advance materials reenacts it in his backyard.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Shackleton: pour 1-1/2 oz. blended Scotch, 1/2 oz. Manzanilla Sherry, 3/4 oz. lime juice, and 1/2 tablespoon each of Crème de Cassis and Simple Syurp into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
