A day of bad mainstream classical, good mainstream classical, bad mainstream pop, seemingly no good mainstream pop, no non-mainstream pop . . . and Missy Mazzoli, Caroline Shaw, Ellen Reid, the JACK Quartet, and Nathalie Joachim!!!!!  Fortunately, there's a schedule.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  When someone like Desmond Child comes on, the best thing to do is hit yourself on the head with a wooden board and hope you don't wake up till he's over.  In general, though, you could do worse than spending the late afternoon and early evening sipping Tom Collinses:  pour 2 oz. Old Tom Gin (you can use plain old London Dry if you're unfortunate enough not to have any Old Tom around) (a circumstance I hope you'll remedy), 3/4 oz. lemon juice, and 1 oz. Simple Syrup into a cocktail shaker.  Shake.  Strain into an ice-filled Highball or Collins glass.  Top with soda water.  Garnish with a lemon wedge and a cocktail cherry.  (I'll acknowledge that the traditional method of preparation is to build this drink in the glass — but I will go to my death insisting that you get a better blend of the ingredients when you shake them.)
