Interdisciplinary performance artist Dawn Kasper steals a title from a 1912 cookbook and reflects on where we are and how we got here.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: I'll bet Mother liked nipping at a Sherry Cobbler while she was cooking: muddle 3 orange slices with 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup in a cocktail shaker. Pour in 3-1/2 oz. Amontillado Sherry. Fill with ice. Stir. Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Garnish a lemon wheel, seasonal berries, and a mint sprig. Drink through a (metal!) straw.
