Let me start by saying that the album musician/theorist DeForrest Brown Jr. dropped last month in his Speaker Music guise, Percussive Therapy, is a huge favorite that I've been listening to obsessively.  Tonight, though, Brown puts on his theorist hat, turning a talk he gave last year about White appropriation of Black music, Black representation in the recording industry, and various strands of Black popular music in relation to the development of on-the-ground music cultures into a visual essay.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Airmail:  pour 1 oz. gold Rum and 3/4 oz. each of lime juice and Honey Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Shake.  Strain into a Collins glass over ice.  Top with Brut Champagne.  Garnish with a lime twist.
