Part of a series in which composers were commissioned to write short (around three minutes -- like a single) pieces roughly based on the Decameron (for obvious reasons) for leading young instrumental soloists.*  Niloufar Nourbaksh is part of the powerhouse Iranian Female Composers Association, and not to be missed.  Jannina Norpoth is a marvelous NYC-scene (PUBLIQuartet, etc.) violinist and is herself a pretty good bet.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  If we're watching a riff on a tale framed by people hanging around in the country outside Florence (to escape the plague in the city, to be sure), then OF COURSE we're going to be drinking some Negroni variation.  The Negroni Sbagliato:  pour 1 oz. each of Campari, sweet Vermouth, and Prosecco into a rocks glass over ice.  Stir.  Garnish with an orange twist.
