Two creator/performers who make music-theater pieces dealing with culture and history (and, more pertinent to this List's fixations, don't recognize any borders between pop and classical).  Micaela Tobin's Bakunawa, treating the pre-Colonial mythology of her motherland the Philippines, is a personal favorite.  But Anna Luisa Petrisko's ritualistic work is very good as well.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Bourbon Renewal:  pour 2 oz. Bourbon, 1 oz. lemon juice, and 1/2 oz. each of Crème de Cassis and Simple Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Shake.  Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice.  Garnish with a lemon wheel.
