Bassist Stephan Krump's Borderlands Trio features pianist Kris Davis, who's as good as current jazz gets.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Those at home can make Black Barrels:  pour 2 oz. Rye and 1/2 oz. each of Averna Amaro (or, barring that, Ramazzotti, CioCiaro, or Montenegro) and Amontillado Sherry, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an Old Fashioned glass over ice.  Stir.  Garnish with a lemon twist.  Those in the audience can try to snag a table on the NoMad Rooftop before or after the early show, or before the late show.
