Aaron Parks is a pianist/composer who integrates guitar-band rock usages into idiomatic jazz in a way that isn't anything like fusion. But the secret ingredient here (well, not so secret) is mainstream jazz's Man Of The Hour, saxperson Immanuel Wilkins.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: American Trilogy: pour 1 oz. each of Rye and Laird's Bonded Apple Brandy, with 2 dashes of orange bitters and a brown sugar cube, to an Old Fashioned glass over ice. Stir. Garnish with an orange twist.
