The splendid Toronto period-instruments band Tafelmusik presents a program of light music by more or less obscure composers from the early Classical period. Some of the most cheerful, tuneful music you can hear: I love this stuff to pieces myself.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Toronto: pour 2 oz. Canadian Whisky and 1/4 oz. each of Fernet and Simple Syrup, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.
