A kaleidoscopic reflection on the last year, reflecting both on the film/video media that many theatermakers have been constrained to adopt and on such substantive issues as race (hard to avoid last year) (finally).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Aquavit Manhattan: pour 2 oz. Aquavit, 3/4 oz. sweet Vermouth, and 1/4 oz. Cherry Heering, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice. Garnish with a cocktail cherry (or, if you prefer, an orange twist).
